Letter to Patients – Our Transition to Sweetwater Family Eyecare

To Our Loyal Patients:

Over the past 32 years, Foster Family Eyecare has had the privilege of providing quality eyecare to Sweetwater and the surrounding areas. From our first week in business when we saw just a handful of patients to now, we could never have predicted how the Lord would allow our business to grow and flourish. Throughout all this growth, our goal has remained the same: to provide high-quality, patient centered care. As we began to look toward the future, we wanted to ensure that our practice continued to uphold this patient centered approach. With this thought in mind, we made the decision to sell our practice to Dr. Callie Mashburn, effective February 1, 2025.

Dr. Mashburn joined our practice in August 2021 and has been committed to providing the high-quality care that we have always been known for. She is a Sweetwater native (and a patient of our practice since she was in 3’rd grade) and has enjoyed caring for her hometown since she started working here. We have discussed the future of our practice with Dr. Mashburn many times over the last few years, and we feel she is committed to upholding the vision we have had since we started our office in 1993.

So, what does this mean for our patients? Firstly, Dr. Tom is not retiring. He is still seeing patients on his normal schedule and currently has no plans to slow down! The biggest change you will notice is a name change. We will be rebranding from Foster Family Eyecare to Sweetwater Family Eyecare. Over the next few months, you will begin to see the new name on our signage and other materials. Some eagle-eyed patients may have already noticed the new name in the reminder texts that you get from us! We are proud of everything we have accomplished as Foster Family Eyecare but feel Dr. Mashburn deserves a chance to create her own legacy, hence the name change. No matter the name, our commitment to providing high quality care to our patients is the same as the day we first opened our doors, and we are looking forward to this new chapter for our practice and ourselves.

Sincerely,
Drs. Tom and Macy Foster
